SUMMARY:Mentor\, Diversity Scholarship Program\, PastForward\, National Trust for Historic Preservation
DESCRIPTION:Each year\, we ask National Trust Advisors and Trustees\, staff or board members of statewide or local organizations\, SHPO staff\, commission members\, previous conference attendees\, and previous scholarship recipients to serve as volunteer mentors. Each scholarship recipient will be paired with a volunteer mentor who is established in the field of preservation and will become part of a small cohort of 3 – 4 scholars (mentors must agree to accept a minimum of 3 scholars). As a mentor\, you will provide the scholars in your cohort with practical guidance to maximize their experience and facilitate important networking opportunities during the conference. The relationship also provides mentors the opportunity to get a fresh perspective on preservation from their scholars. Scholars will also have the opportunity to easily connect with the other scholars in your scholar cohort.
